广东外语外贸大学是一所具有鲜明国际化特色的广东省属重点大学,秉承“全人教育、追求卓越”的教育理念,践行“卓越、诚信、包容、自信”的广外价值观和“进德、修业、务实、致远”的广外学风。是华南地区国际化人才培养和外国语言文化、对外经济贸易、国际战略研究的重要基地。现有在校全日制本科生19779人,博士、硕士研究生4794人,各类成人本专科生、进修及培训生、外国留学生30000多人。
学校的前身是广州外国语学院和广州对外贸易学院。广州外国语学院于1964年11月设立、1965年7月正式招生,是原国家教委(现教育部)直属的36所大学之一。广州对外贸易学院成立于1980年12月,是原国家外经贸部(现商务部)直属院校,为全国国际经济与贸易专业的创始单位之一。1995年5月广东省人民政府将两校合并组建广东外语外贸大学。2008年10月,广东财经职业学院划入广东外语外贸大学。学校地处中国历史文化名城和华南地区经济中心广州,辖4个校区,总面积2442亩(含规划)。
建校以来,梁宗岱、桂诗春、李筱菊等名师大家荟萃学校,执教治学,为学校积累了丰厚的精神文化财富。学校现有教职工总数2129人,专任教师1404人,其中教授、副教授比例达到53.8%,具有硕士以上学位比例达到95.4%。
学校形成了外语学科与非外语学科“双轮驱动”、多学科多语种协调可持续发展的学科格局。学校现有67个本科招生专业,分属文学、经济学、管理学、法学、工学、理学、教育学、艺术学八大学科门类。其中有33个国家级一流本科专业建设点,14个省级一流本科专业建设点,2个国家级专业综合改革试点,14个省级专业综合改革试点。学校1981年获硕士学位授予权,1986年获博士学位授予权,是中国恢复研究生制度后较早获得硕士、博士授予权的单位。学校现有1个国家级重点学科和7个省级重点学科。拥有2个博士后科研流动站,2个一级学科博士点和18个二级学科博士点,12个一级学科硕士点和54个二级学科硕士点,11个专业学位硕士点。
学校加强全方位国(境)外教育合作与交流。截至目前,已与60个国家和地区的481所大学和学术文化机构建立了合作交流关系。我校深度参与“一带一路”沿线国家和粤港澳大湾区高等教育合作,大力推进“亚洲校园”“湾区校园”“欧亚校园”“国际治理创新研究生项目”“RCEP人才培养计划”建设,与港澳高校共同组建“粤港澳大湾区葡语教育联盟”,开展粤港澳联合培养研究生专项计划。
学校教学设施齐全先进,居国内同类院校领先水平。有着先进的校园网络和管理平台,拥有1个国家级实验教学示范中心、10个省级实验教学示范中心和总面积52000余平方米的实验室。图书馆总面积5.96万平方米,馆藏纸质文献资源总量为309.84万册,中外文纸质报刊1301种,1473份,中外文电子书534.14万册,中外文电子期刊271.68万册,中外文电子数据库151种,自建数据库7种,并实现35个外语语种馆藏文献采购、编目、流通和检索的网络化集成管理。现有固定资产总值约30.27亿元。
学院简介
广东外语外贸大学迈博体育成立于2005年,其前身是广东外语外贸大学公共艺术教研室。学院重视学生思想与综合素质培养,以培养专业水平高,跨文化交际能力强、迈博体育实践创新能力突出的国际化高素质艺术人才为培养目标,积极推进专业教学与外语教学的融合,构建“艺术迈博体育实践与创新、文化创意与设计、国际合作与交流”的办学特色体系。
学院现有音乐系、艺术设计系、舞蹈系、公共艺术教学部、艺术专业硕士教育中心5个教学单位。拥有音乐、设计专业硕士学位授予权。研究生教育层面,音乐领域招收声乐表演、钢琴表演和音乐国际教育与传播方向专业硕士研究生;设计领域招收视觉艺术设计、数字媒体与文化传播设计和环境艺术设计方向专业硕士研究生。本科层面开设音乐表演(声乐、钢琴、音乐国际传播)、舞蹈表演、视觉传达设计(平面艺术设计、信息艺术设计、环境与展示设计)三个本科专业共七个专业方向。公共艺术教学部负责全校艺术类通选课程的教学。学院设有省级“中华优秀传统文化传承基地”“南粤古驿道艺术文化研究中心”和校级人文社会科学重点研究基地“粤港澳大湾区历史文化遗产活化研究基地”,及下设“历史建筑遗产研究中心”、“非物质文化遗产研究中心”、“传统音乐研究与传播中心”和“岭南文化视觉传播研究中心”等多个科学研究机构和教学迈博体育实践平台。学院重视产学研结合,与30余家企业开展了校企合作,建设了一批校外实习迈博体育实践基地,充分保证了研究生和本科教学需求。
学院拥有一流的办学条件,建有16000余平方米的迈博体育教学楼,配备了770余万元的现代化教学设备,建设有配套设施完备的数字媒体计算机机房、电子音乐多媒体机房、陶艺工作室、皮雕工作室、环境与展示工作室、数字媒体工作室、视觉传达设计工作室等多个教学迈博体育实践平台,并设有学院专属的展览厅、音乐厅、实验剧场和琴房共计102间。
学院拥有高度国际化的迈博体育平台,45%的教师具有海外学历学位或海外研修访学经历。现有专任教师44人,其中教授8人,副教授15人,讲师13人,助教1人,外籍教师7人,校级客座教授和特聘教授42人。迈博体育平台中博士6人,博士在读5人。音乐系教师先后获得中央电视台举办的第八届“大红鹰杯”全国青年歌手电视大奖赛专业组优秀奖、中国音乐家协会举办的“第十二届全国金钟奖”声乐(美声)金奖、中国戏剧家协会举办的“中国戏剧奖”,宁波国际声乐比赛女声部第一名等专业赛事重要奖项。艺术设计系教师在第24届世界大学生冬季运动会、单板滑雪世界锦标赛等多项国际重要活动视觉识别系统设计国际招标中获奖中标,在2017International Poster Exhibition+9,第十届、第十一亚洲平面设计三年展中获得最佳设计奖。
学院教学与科研成果显著,近五年共有47篇论文成果被SSCI、A&HCI、CSSCI等核心期刊检索或收录,专著、编著17部,主持各类教学、科研项目75项,其中国家级项目5项,教育部项目4项,广东省哲学社会科学项目8项,三门课程被评为省级“线下”“线上线下混合”一流课程。
学院积极打造国际化办学特色,截至2021年底,先后与法国、德国、美国等国家和地区的五十多所高等学校及艺术机构开展了艺术文化交流和合作,开展了与法国巴黎学院联合培养项目、美国哈町大学2+2合作项目、澳门科技大学和澳门理工大学交换生项目,与东盟26所高校达成合作协议备忘录,2021至2022年开展港澳与内地高等学校师生交流“万人计划”项目三项,为学生提供了多种升学和深造渠道。
学院依托广外综合优势,凸显办学特色,学生培养质量优秀,近年多届毕业生有1/3以上进入国外知名学府继续深造,2022年毕业生就业率为98.6%。
I. Introduction to the University
Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (GDUFS) is a key university in Guangdong province with distinctive international characteristics. Adhering to the educational philosophy of "Whole-person education and the Pursuit of Excellence", GDUFS values the concept of "Excellence, Integrity, Tolerance and Self-confidence" and the academic spirit of "Advancing morality, pursuing study, being pragmatic and reaching for the future". It is an important base for international talent training, foreign language and culture, foreign economic and trade, and international strategy research in South China. At present, there are 19,779 full-time undergraduates, 4794 doctoral and master students, and more than 30,000 adult undergraduate and junior college students, advanced study and training students and foreign students.
It was formerly Guangzhou Institute of Foreign Languages and Guangzhou Institute of Foreign Trade. Guangzhou Institute of Foreign Languages (GFIU) was established in November 1964 and officially admitted students in July 1965. It is one of the 36 universities directly under the former State Education Commission (now the Ministry of Education). Guangzhou Institute of Foreign Trade (GFIT), founded in December 1980, is one of the founding institutions of international economy and trade in China. In May 1995, Guangdong Provincial People's Government merged the two universities to form Guangdong University of Foreign Studies. In October 2008, Guangdong Vocational College of Finance and Economics was incorporated into Guangdong University of Foreign Studies. The university is located in Guangzhou, a famous historical and cultural city in China and the economic center of south China. It has 4 campuses with a total area of 2442 mu (including planning).
Since its establishment, Liang Zongdai, Gui Shichun, Li Xiaoju and other famous teachers have gathered in the school to teach and study. It has accumulated rich spiritual and cultural wealth for the school. At present, there are 2,129 faculty and staff members, including 1,404 full-time teachers, of whom 53.8% are professors and associate professors, and 95.4% have master's degrees or above.
The university has formed a "dual wheel drive" of foreign language and non-foreign language disciplines, with coordinated and sustainable development of multi-disciplines and multi-languages. The university has 67 undergraduate programs, which are divided into eight disciplines: literature, economics, management, law, engineering, science, education and art. There are 33 national first-class undergraduate programs, 14 provincial first-class undergraduate programs, 2 national programs and 14 provincial programs for comprehensive reform. The university was authorized to confer master's degree in 1981 and doctor's degree in 1986, making it one of the earliest institutions to confer master's degree and doctor's degree after the restoration of the graduate system in China. The university now has one national key discipline and seven provincial key disciplines. It has 2 post-doctoral research stations, 2 doctoral programs in first-level disciplines and 18 doctoral programs in second-level disciplines, 12 master programs in first-level disciplines and 54 master programs in second-level disciplines, and 11 professional master programs.
The University has strengthened all-round cooperation and exchanges in education abroad. Up to now, it has established cooperative and exchange relations with 481 universities and academic and cultural institutions in 60 countries and regions. Our university has been deeply involved in the higher education cooperation between countries along the Belt and Road initiative and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. We have vigorously promoted the construction of "Asian Campus", "Bay Area Campus", "Eurasian Campus", "International Governance Innovation Graduate Program" and "RCEP Talent Training Program", and jointly established the "Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Portuguese-Language Education Alliance" with Hong Kong-Macao Higher Schools. We will launch a special program to jointly train graduate students in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao.
The school's teaching facilities are complete and advanced, leading the domestic similar universities.It has advanced campus network and management platform, with 1 national experimental teaching demonstration center, 10 provincial experimental teaching demonstration centers and a total area of more than 52,000 square meters of laboratories. The total area of the library is 59,600 square meters, and the collection of paper literature resources is 3,098,400 volumes, 1,301 kinds of Chinese and foreign paper newspapers and periodicals, 1,473 copies, 5,341,400 Chinese and foreign e-books, 2,716,800 Chinese and foreign electronic periodicals, 151 kinds of Chinese and foreign electronic databases and 7 kinds of self-built databases. It also realizes the networked integrated management of the acquisition, cataloguing, circulation and retrieval of 35 foreign language collections. The total value of the existing fixed assets is about 3.027 billion.
Introduction to the College
The College of Art at Guangdong University of Foreign Studies was founded in 2005, formerly known as the Public Art Teaching and Research Office of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies. The College values the cultivation of students' ideological and comprehensive qualities and aims to cultivate high-level international art talents with strong professional skills, excellent cross-cultural communication skills and outstanding practical innovation capabilities. It actively promotes the integration of professional teaching and foreign language teaching, and constructs a distinctive educational system characterized by "art practice and innovation, cultural creativity and design, international cooperation and exchange."
The College currently consists of five teaching units: the Department of Music, the Department of Art Design, the Department of Dance, the Department of Public Art Teaching, and the Graduate Education Center for Art. It has the authority to confer master's degrees in music and design. At the graduate level, the Field of Music enrolls master's students in vocal performance, piano performance, and music international education and communication. The Field of Design enrolls master's students in visual art design, digital media and cultural communication design, and environmental art design. At the undergraduate level, the College offers seven undergraduate programs in music performance (vocal, piano, music international communication), dance performance, and visual communication design (graphic art design, information art design, environmental and exhibition design). The Department of Public Art Teaching is responsible for teaching art general education courses throughout the university. The College has established a provincial-level "Chinese Excellent Traditional Culture Inheritance Base," the "South China Historical Trail Art and Culture Research Center," and a university-level key research base for humanities and social sciences, the "Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Historical and Cultural Heritage Activation Research Base," as well as several scientific research institutions and teaching practice platforms, including the "Historical Architecture Heritage Research Center," the "Intangible Cultural Heritage Research Center," the "Traditional Music Research and Communication Center," and the "Lingnan Culture Visual Communication Research Center." The College attaches great importance to the integration of production, teaching, and research, and has established cooperation with more than 30 enterprises, building a number of off-campus internship and practice bases to fully meet the teaching needs of graduate and undergraduate students.
The College boasts first-class teaching conditions, with a dedicated teaching building covering an area of over 16,000 square meters. It is equipped with modern teaching facilities worth over 7.7 million yuan, including well-equipped digital media computer labs, electronic music multimedia labs, pottery studios, leather carving studios, environmental and exhibition studios, digital media studios, and visual communication design studios. Additionally, the College has a total of 102 exhibition halls, music halls, experimental theaters, and piano rooms exclusively designated for the College.
The College has a highly internationalized faculty, with 45% of its teachers holding overseas academic degrees or having experience in overseas research and study. Currently, there are 44 full-time faculty members, including 8 professors, 15 associate professors, 13 lecturers, 1 teaching assistant, and 7 foreign teachers. Additionally, there are 42 visiting professors and distinguished professors at the university level. Among the faculty, there are 6 PhD holders and 5 doctoral candidates. Teachers from the Department of Music have won significant awards in professional competitions, such as the 8th "Da Hong Ying Cup" National Young Singers’ Competition Professional Group Excellence Award hosted by CCTV, the Gold Award in Vocal (Bel Canto) at the “12th Chinese Golden Bell Award for Music” hosted by the Chinese Musicians Association, the “Chinese Drama Prize” hosted by the China Theatre Association and the first prize in the Women's Voice category at the Ningbo International Vocal Competition, among others. Teachers from the Department of Art Design have won international bids and awards for visual identification system design in various international events, including the 24th World University Winter Games and the Snowboarding World Championships, as well as the 2017 International Poster Exhibition + 9, and the 10th and 11th Asia Graphic Design Triennials, where they received the Best Design Award.
The College has achieved remarkable teaching and research results. In the past five years, a total of 47 research papers have been indexed or included in core journals such as SSCI, A&HCI, and CSSCI. Additionally, there have been 17 monographs and edited volumes, as well as 75 teaching and research projects, including 5 national-level projects, 4 projects supported by the Ministry of Education, and 8 projects supported by the Guangdong Provincial Philosophy and Social Science Planning Project. Three courses have been recognized as provincial-level first-class courses, including offline learning and both offline and online blended learning.
The College actively promotes its internationalized educational characteristics. By the end of 2021, it had established partnerships with over fifty higher education institutions and artistic organizations in France, Germany, the United States, and other countries and regions. Collaborative initiatives include joint training programs with the Collège de Paris, 2+2 cooperation programs with Harding University in the United States, and student exchange programs with the Macau University of Science and Technology and the Macao Polytechnic University. Cooperation agreements have been reached with 26 universities in the ASEAN region. From 2021 to 2022, three projects under the "Ten Thousand People Plan" for exchanges between Hong Kong, Macao, and mainland Chinese higher education institutions were implemented, providing students with various opportunities for further study and advancement.
Relying on the comprehensive advantages of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, the College highlights its distinctive educational characteristics and maintains excellent student training quality. In recent years, more than one-third of graduates have continued their studies at prestigious foreign universities. The employment rate of graduates in 2022 reached 98.6%.
